Burbank Elementary School
Mascot Mosaic

Mrs. Jorda's 2nd Grade class of Burbank Elementary created this 2' x 3' mosaic of their school mascot. In making this project, the class learned about recycled art as well as a little history about mosaic art. We used mostly broken plates and mirror, and each of the yellow stars in the background represents a student in the class.

After creating the mosaic, the students discussed what it meant to be a Burbank Scholar, then created a poem, which was presented to the principal along with the mosaic. It is now displayed inside, at the entrance of the school.
